Rob Assels is the Research Manager in the firm’s Halifax office and Vice-president of Business Development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and has completed certificates in Statistical Methods in Market Research, Market Research Design, Qualitative Marketing Research and Ethical Issues and Privacy in Marketing Research with the School for Market Research. Rob Assels is a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society and the Marketing Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA), and holds the Certified Market Research Professional (CMRP) designation, the MRIA’s highest professional designation. Prior to the formation of the MRIA, Rob was a member of the Professional Market Research Society (PMRS) for 12 years and served on the executive of the Atlantic Chapter for four years. Rob earned the Credentialed Evaluator (CE) designation from the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) in 2012. He also sits on the business advisory committee for the Seneca College Applied Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Rob’s focus is on client satisfaction and employee engagement measurement. Having worked for both public and private sector clients, he offers unique insights into this work. Rob’s experience in the private sector includes financial services, travel and tourism, natural resources, manufacturing and retail. He has also undertaken various survey, evaluation, and human resource projects. Some of his most recent clients include: the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, the Department of National Defense, Toronto Public Health, the Ontario Ministry of Long Term Care, and the Regional Municipality of York – Health Protection Division. Rob is also an experienced qualitative researcher, having moderated more than 100 focus groups and conducted hundreds of in-depth interviews.
